Class I of the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program asks you to support NELP during the Big Day of Giving.

NELP is a selective 10-month professional development program that prepares its Fellows for effective and ethical leadership in their companies and communities. NELP offers leadership training customized to the specific challenges faced by culturally diverse leaders. Fellows graduate to put their talents to work in the public and private sectors, acting as catalysts for positive change in our community. The Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program is a WIN-WIN-WIN for individuals, companies and the community.

NELP intentionally aims for a well-rounded cohort of Fellows who are underrepresented in Sacramento’s leadership profile compared to their overall numbers in the general population. As such, crucial to our outcome is training ethnically/culturally diverse emerging leaders who will actively lead teams in the public and private spheres of Sacramento’s workforce. This diversity of thought, experience, and racial/ethnic background is imperative to achieve our--and ultimately, our Fellows’---overarching goal and passion to advance equity within the Sacramento region’s leadership. It is imperative to authentically engage BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities, including women, and give them the tools and resources necessary to amplify voice.
