We CAN take Action Against Climate Change!

Hi, my name is Goli and thanks for visiting my page! 

Doug and I have been working with the Sacramento Climate Coalition and other Climate groups since before the pandemic. Climate Change is accelerating really fast so we have to work as fast as possible! So we started a simultaneous campaign to get the City, County of Sacramento and SMUD to get off fossil fuels as fast as we can. With the help of our teams and the collaboration of our 36 member organizations, we got all three to declare that we are in a Climate Emergency and pledge to speed up our transition off fossil fuels from the stated California goal of 2045 to 2030!

Since then we have been working on forming a Public Bank of Sacramento which would help us bring back taxpayer money that currently goes to Chase Bank, the largest funder of fossil fuels to stay in Sacramento helping to fund our community’s needs! We have amazingly progressive allies like Katie Valenzuela, our Bank Champion, and Dr. Flo pictured above in Yellow.We have been working with the California Public Banking Alliance , leaders in a Country- wide movement to build public banks that serve cities, counties and public entities. In addition we help with getting Calaccounts, another project of the CPBA to bring free and penalty free bank accounts to the 20% of Californians who are unbanked or under banked, losing so much money each month due to fees or loansharks and payday lenders!

I also volunteer at a public school to teach kids about all of the actions that they can take to help against Climate Change and to learn nutrition by growing vegetables.

 I love to bring joy to our Climate Activism like Flash mobs, a drum corps, funny chants( Doug is really good at those!), Persian food for everyone, Protest Puppets, songs and artful signs.
