Lisa's 42nd Birthday Fundraiser for SI Davis

As President of Soroptimist International of Davis (SI Davis) 2022-2023, I invite you to celebrate my 42nd birthday by investing in the dreams of women and girls. SI Davis is is part of a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

One of our signature programs is Live Your Dream. Live Your Dream grants are not scholarships. They give women the power to choose how to use the financial resources to achieve their dreams.

SI Davis also provides education assistance to younger women. Our signature teen program, Dream It, Be It, gives girls the tools they need to achieve their education and career goals, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, violence and abuse. We partner with staff at Martin Luther King Junior High School, the local alternative high school, to provide in-person training on resilience, goal-setting and career opportunities.

The Dream It, Be It program is complemented by our youth scholarship program.  Last year, SI Davis awarded $12,000 in scholarships to six recipients, including four students graduating from King High. King staff noted that students who receive our scholarships are getting a jumpstart on their academic goals and support on the financial ones.

Other local programs include support for like-minded nonprofits such as Thriving Pink, STEAC, Empower Yolo and Mutual Housing.

Since 2020, I have volunteered with SI Davis because women and girls need our support, now to pursue their academic and career goals.  Please make a donation today of $15 or more.
