When Beth Seevers lost her son Rhett—who was born with cerebral palsy—she was left searching for how to keep going. In the midst of grief, she found running. Mile by mile, she processed pain, found strength, and turned her heartbreak into purpose.
That purpose became Runnin’ for Rhett, a nonprofit that now helps thousands of people “Move Into Life.” Through their Youth Fitness Program, they offer free 5K training, running shoes, and mentorship to underserved students across Sacramento—many of whom are running for the first time, discovering the joy it can bring.
Beth’s story moved me. While my own journey didn’t come from loss, running has been my way of navigating life’s challenges. It’s helped me move through moments of doubt, stress, indecision, and change. It’s taught me discipline, clarity, and how to keep going—one step at a time.
Now, I’m training for a full marathon. I’m doing it to honor Rhett’s legacy, to support the incredible kids in this program, and to give back to the kind of movement that’s helped me grow stronger, inside and out.
If this mission resonates with you, I’d be truly grateful for your support. Every donation helps a student lace up their first pair of running shoes—and take that powerful first step forward.
Let’s help them cross their own finish lines.
keep going,
