Jerry and Michelle's Fundraiser for the Animals

After closing our beloved business, Madison Station Cafe, we have had more time to help our daughter and son-in-law rescue and care for animals in need at their non-profit, Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary. We believe in the sanctuary's mission of helping people see traditionally farmed animals as individuals deserving of joy and love and providing a safe haven to those who have been abused, neglected, or headed to slaughter. Since Big Day of Giving is the most important fundraising day of the year for Blackberry Creek, we are endeavoring to motivate our supportive friends and family to give to this organization that is dear to our hearts.

About Blackberry Creek

Home to over 85 rescued animals, Blackberry Creek provides critical rescue services and permanent sanctuary homes for species not assisted by traditional shelters. The home of more than 80 animals, our non-profit sanctuary goes above and beyond to make rescued animals a part of our family. By supporting our work on Big Day of Giving, you are supporting:

1. Critical medical care for abused, neglected, injured, and chronically ill animals.
2. Fire safety and evacuation equipment (especially important after all we learned last year during the River Fire)!
3. Staffing to provide 24/7 care to rescued animals permanently living at the sanctuary.
4. Funding for LEAP, our humane education program alternative to FFA and 4H 
5. "Book Barn" literacy programs
6.  General operating costs (animal feed, bedding, medication, fencing, maintenance, etc.)
7. Funding for new and improved habitats (like our new waterfowl habitat opening in June 2022)!
