Culture and Heritage
I'm grateful to be part of this fabulous organization that seeks to highlight the positives of our Mexican Culture, including the beautiful art and history of Mexico. As a proud Mexican American we need to share our experiences with other nationalities and ethnic groups in the USA so that others may learn and participate in the Mexican Culture through the various activities that the MCCNC presents each year. That is not to say that Mexican Culture is superior or better than other cultures, but only intended to welcome others to experience the beauty of Mexican culture with all its delicious food, music, traditions and art. For the youth in our community it is also critical that they learn to be proud of their heritage and avoid the negative stereotypes that are often portrayed in the media or sensationalized in news stories about Mexico. Mexican culture is not just about lowriders or Cinco de Mayo and it is our organization's intention to show how much more there is out there to learn and experience.
