Romania Tour Fund

My dance team has been invited to participate in the Children's and Youth Folkloric Ensemble Festival in Vatra Dornei, Romania. The goal of CIOFF is the "safeguarding, promotion and diffusion of traditional culture." Usually at IDAC we learn dances from around the world in hopes of gaining a greater appreciation for other people and cultures. This semester we have been working hard to learn many traditional American styles of dance, like clogging, hoedown, swing, Appalachian patchwork, and Civil War Era waltz. We are eager and ready to share a little of our American culture and heritage with them, and learn about Romanian culture as well.
