Empower Youth’s 2025 Big Day of Giving Fundraiser!

Empower Youth is a service club started in August 2020 with 12 local teens during the pandemic to help support the children at Empower Yolo’s emergency shelter and other families in need. Today, the club is flourishing with membership and youth leaders are engaged with their school community and doing great community service work. 

Empower Youth meets bi-monthly to discuss key community issues and raise awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, teen dating violence, healthy relationships, mental health, and homelessness. Each meeting focuses on an awareness campaign or service project. The club collaborates with Empower Yolo’s domestic violence shelter to support children and families throughout the year.

In May 2023 the City of Davis awarded Empower Youth the Golden Heart Award for outstanding community service and the Thong Hy Huynh Award for promoting and practicing equal opportunity for all and for promoting positive human relations and civil rights.

For this year’s Big Day of Giving campaign Empower Yolo is highlighting and raising funds to support youth programs and education to build resilience.

To support this effort, Empower Youth is raising funding to support prevention education for teens - to help us raise awareness about teen dating violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
