Empower Youth BDOG Fundraiser for Empower Yolo

Empower Youth is a service club started in August 2020 by local teens during the pandemic to support children at Empower Yolo’s emergency shelter and families in need.

The club’s work focuses on creating opportunities for children at the shelter who cannot safely participate in community activities— members staff summer camps, support holiday events, birthday celebrations, and donation drives. They also engage in conversations about critical issues like domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, teen dating violence and healthy relationships, anti-bullying, hunger and homelessness awareness, and mental health awareness.

Their impact has been recognized with the City of Davis Golden Heart Award and the Thong Hy Huynh Award in 2023, and the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award in 2025.

Now in its sixth year, Empower Youth continues to grow with strong leadership and purpose.
