Our newest board member Jason, just sent me this rad image. If we achieve our goal this year, we'll be able to purchase a permanent home for MusicLandria and establish permanent musical roots. This is super exciting and will be a total game changer for Sacramento's Music Scene.

Too Long, Don't Read?

MusicLandria used to be a simple flicker of an idea romping around in my spine, and other areas of my consciousness that I could only access on clear days. Now its very real, and it's had 7 years of trickle out impacts on thousands of musicians. Jaws have dropped, smiles have extended from ear to ear, and phrases like "is this real", "whats the catch", "this is hands-down the coolest thing in Sacramento" "can i renew it for another two weeks" have been uttered... oh how they've been uttered :)

MusicLandria has expanded, changed, pivoted, evolved and continually worked to overcome challenges, learning curves and you guessed it, difficulties finding funding. The thing about providing a free service is you don't really get the benefits profit margins which can make it hard to keep the doors open, as I'm sure you can imagine. Also, did you know that MusicLandria hasn't ever gotten a grant for our lending library? Not one in 7 years. We've received grants for other programs, but not 1 for our free music instrument lending program Wild right? I don't really get it. All the funding for our lending program has come from individual donations, from musicians, and music appreciators.

I've got so many thoughts and feels on TLM and its 7 year history, but lets save the whole rant for another day. For now, lets celebrate MusicLandria and see what kind of support we can generate in 1 amazing day. Donations will support radical musical access and programming, some current, some not even imagined yet : )
