Our child, Shaye (25), has been a part of Meristem for the past four years. Meristem is a nonprofit program that helps autistic and neurodiverse young adults build the skills they need for independent living, employment, and a fulfilling future.
At Meristem, students aren’t just taught — they’re empowered, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Though Meristem is vendored with the Regional Center to help with costs for many of its students, not all students at Meristem are Regional Center consumers or are lucky enough to live close by. Several come from other parts of California and a few from out of state to students live on campus to further their independent living skills.
Scholarship funds are critical to helping more families access Meristem’s transformational programs. This Big Day of Giving, I’m helping raise funds for scholarships — and now, through Big Day of Giving this Thursday, every dollar donated will be matched up to $10,000!
