Dear friends,

This year, I’m proud to participate in Big Day of Giving as a board member of the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California (MCCNC), an organization that means a great deal to me both personally and culturally.

For more than 30 years, MCCNC has been dedicated to preserving, enriching, and promoting Mexican heritage, culture, art, history, and traditions throughout Northern California. Our work is rooted in community pride, education, and the belief that culture is a powerful tool for connection, belonging, and opportunity, especially for future generations.

As someone deeply grateful to the Hispanic community that shaped me, serving on the MCCNC board is my way of giving back. I’ve seen firsthand how MCCNC’s programs bring people together across generations through cultural celebrations, educational initiatives, youth programs, and partnerships that uplift families and inspire young people to embrace their identity with pride.

Each year, MCCNC participates in Big Day of Giving, hosted by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Over the last three years, our community has helped us raise approximately $17,000 annually, funding programs that directly benefit local students and families. This year, our goal is to reach $20,000, and with your support, I know we can make it happen.

Big Day of Giving is on May 7, with early giving beginning April 23. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure MCCNC can continue its important work of creating spaces where culture is celebrated, traditions are preserved, and our community feels seen, valued, and empowered.

Supporting MCCNC is more than supporting events. It is about investing in community, identity, and legacy, ensuring our culture continues to thrive in Northern California for generations to come.
