Heroic volunteerism through River City Waterway Alliance is healing the health and vitality of Sacramento area waterways in unprecedented fashion. It is our passion.

Riparian lands once referred to as "a landfill with a creek running through it" have been arduously transformed into beautiful greenbelts brimming with wildlife. Honestly, if I hadn't been out there for 800-plus cleanups over the past several years, I would never believe it.

2026 has been a big year for RCWA! We became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit in January, launched our fabulous website in February and have been expanding our reach into new stretches along our creeks and rivers. More incredibly, we are inching ever so closely to our next major milestone of 4 MILLION pounds of trash removed!  This organization is efficient and effective and accomplishing what no one else thought possible.
