I am part of a jazz big band created by the Live Performing Arts Academy, a non-profit in it's 2nd year of existence.  This band of seasoned performers helps to showcase what music education has done for me and others in the band.  The LPAA has given jazz musicians, especially high school and college age people a chance to expand their musical education and performance opportunities by creating an annual event called the California Jazz Championships taking place April 26th and 27th, 2024.  This year we have over 1,100 musicians that will be taking over the Palladio in Folsom, CA to play jazz with big bands, combos and choirs.  Our band will be performing and opening for The New York Seven which is comprised of award winning New York Jazz artists including Folsom High Alumni Hank Allen-Barfield.  An event of this size is a massive undertaking and in order to give all of the performers an amazing experience we need your help!  Any amount donated will ensure that we can continue to give these educational experiences to young people from all over the West Coast and all different walks of life.  We do not charge for Jazz Festival entrance, only for the night concert on Friday.  Your donation will help to secure staging, signage, practice space, judges and clinicians, but think of it as more than that.  Your donation directly affects me and my ongoing musical journey.  Music is something that everyone can enjoy their whole lives regardless of what they move on to during or after high school or college.

We thank friends, family and donors like you who will help to make thousands of musician's dreams come true by giving them performance and competition experiences they will never forget.

Thank you so much for your donation!
