Ari needs GiGi’s Playhouse—because without it, her world would look very different. As the oldest of four and learning at home through a charter school’s independent study program, she doesn’t always have access to the same opportunities as other kids. We’ve faced a lot of closed doors—but GiGi’s has been wide open.

It’s a place where Ari can learn, be accepted just as she is, and never be turned away. And the best part? It’s all completely free. As a mom, that kind of support means everything.

My daughter loves GiGi’s Playhouse—and she has come so far thanks to their incredible, 100% free programming! Right now, Ari is participating in 1:1 Literacy Tutoring each week with the amazing Miss Patty, and she is thriving. Her reading skills are improving, and she’s retaining so much! We haven’t tried the GiGi’s Kitchen program yet, but I just know she’ll love it—especially since cooking is one of her favorite things!

As a volunteer myself, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative GiGi’s Playhouse programs can be. They truly change lives. Through a therapeutic, purposeful approach, GiGi’s creates a space where individuals with Down syndrome of all ages feel accepted, celebrated, and empowered to reach their full potential.

One of the most beloved programs is GiGi’s Kitchen—offered twice a week and serving 72 participants annually. It’s more than a cooking class: it’s a place where confidence, independence, and healthy habits are built through hands-on, skill-building experiences.

This Big Day of Giving, GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento is aiming to raise $10,000 to fully fund a 12-week session of GiGi’s Kitchen. With your support, this life-changing program can continue to be offered completely free to families like ours.

Let’s keep the momentum going—empower potential, build community, and GIVE today!
