Throughout the years, the Placer Food Bank (PFB) team has worked tirelessly to uphold our core priorities:

  • To feed, to nourish and to advocate within the El Dorado, Placer and Nevada county communities we serve.

We have optimized our operations to efficiently distribute nutritious food to individuals, families and children across three counties. The expansion of our partner agency network and innovative distribution strategies has enhanced our efforts to provide access to fresh and healthy food.

As one of only 200 Feeding America food banks across the nation, we play a crucial role as the primary food collection and distribution center for hunger-relief in the region. Leveraging the network's support, we secure funding and outreach to manage essential food assistance programs for people of all ages and circumstances.

Beyond regular operations, we stand ready as first food responders during emergencies such as wildfires, flash floods, power outages, snow closures, and mudslides, offering emergency meal-kits, water, and essential goods to displaced residents. Our ability to address these challenges is made possible by our dedicated staff, donors, volunteers, and community and corporate partners.

In FY 2022-2023, PFB distributed more than 9.5 million pounds of food, feeding 759K individuals and utilizing more than 20K volunteer hours to support our daily operations. Through Feeding America food retail partners, every $1 in cash donations allows us to acquire $20 worth of wholesale groceries. This efficiency has doubled our impact from last year, enabling our 10 free PantryToGo drive-through food distributions to serve more than 1.6 million pounds of food to 104,000 individuals.
