Founded in 2010 by Patti Brown, MS, LMFT, CMBM, Wellness Within is a nonprofit cancer support center based in downtown Roseville, serving patients, survivors, caregivers, and families across Placer, Sacramento, Yolo, and El Dorado Counties.
A cancer diagnosis doesn’t just affect the body - it touches every part of a person’s life. For many, the emotional and mental toll can feel just as overwhelming as treatment itself. At the same time, cancer rates in Placer County continue to rise, increasing the need for accessible, compassionate support.
Wellness Within exists to meet that need by providing whole-person care - supporting the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of the cancer experience - through programs offered on a donate-if-and-what-you-can basis, so that cost is never a barrier.
In 2025, Wellness Within supported over 2,000 class registrations across over 400 wellness programs, delivering no-cost, life-enhancing support to individuals impacted by cancer. Our offerings continue to grow in response to the evolving needs of our community.
At its core, Wellness Within is a community. We walk alongside each person who comes through our doors. We offer more than just resources, but connection, understanding, and a place to heal.

Wellness Within's mission is to enhance the quality of life for those impacted by cancer.
We serve patients, survivors, caregivers, and families by providing support and teaching coping skills. Our organization offers tools, resources and services that speak to the needs of each individual facing cancer, restoring healing, cultivating resilience, and instilling hope.
A cancer diagnosis upends everything - work, family, finances, and emotional well-being, and no one should have to face it alone. Yet many individuals and families lack access to the mental health support, wellness resources, and community connection they need to navigate and recover from the impact of cancer. While medical care treats the body, the emotional and psychological toll often goes unaddressed, leaving people to cope on their own.
At Wellness Within, we meet this critical and growing need by providing no-cost support services that care for the whole person. As demand continues to rise in our community, your support ensures that individuals and families can access these services when they need them most.

Flexible funding and sponsorships sustain our programs, cover essential costs, and ensure all services remain available at no cost. This support allows us to meet growing demand and expand access to care for individuals and families in our community.
