About Voices of California
Voices of California is an award-winning men's a cappella chorus based in Sacramento, California. As part of the California Delta Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS)—an international organization with over 1,000 chapters worldwide—we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the barbershop style of singing through high-caliber performances and competitions. Competing as an all-male chorus, we have achieved 19th place worldwide in international competition and claimed our division championship 12 times since our inception in 2010. The chorus also supports multiple quartets within its membership. Driven by our passion for music, we rehearse weekly, continually refine our craft, and create entertaining shows that captivate audiences across the greater Sacramento area.
Our Goals
Our primary goals are to preserve a unique American art form and to bring the rich tradition of barbershop harmony through performances, competitions, and community engagement initiatives. We aim to enhance the local arts scene, serving as a pillar of Sacramento's performing arts community. By collaborating with other organizations and providing live musical entertainment throughout the region, we foster a vibrant arts environment. We also invest in the next generation through youth outreach programs, introducing young singers to the joys of a cappella harmony, promoting musical development, and supporting an annual late summer singing camp. When participation allows, we field a youth chorus for national competitions and host singing clinics at local high schools. Our chorus is built on diversity, camaraderie, and a shared passion for music, providing members with opportunities to improve and grow.

VoCal's Board of Directors has created a matching fund for the first $2,000 donated through BigDOG this year. This initiative allows supporters to double the impact of their contribution, providing vital support for our programs and mission.
The mission of the Voices of California Chorus is to create harmony through exceptional male choral performance, while cultivating fraternity, personal growth, and shared musical experiences of the highest quality primarily in the barbershop style.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on generous contributions to sustain our mission and expand our impact. Your support will help us expand music education and youth programs, inspiring the next generation of singers through camps, workshops, and outreach efforts. Contributions also enhance our performances by funding venue rentals, guest artists, costumes, and props, ensuring professional-quality shows.
