Since 1896, Travelers Aid Emergency Assistance Agency (TAEAA) has provided service to the Sacramento community.  It is our mission to assist low-income families including "The Working Poor", by stabilizing the family unit and returning them to mainstream self-sufficiency.  TAEAA has kept thousands of families off the street and have given them a hand up to live the American dream.  In spite of cutbacks and cost increases we are committed to ensuring that the hard-working families in our community have the opportunity to become economically self-sufficient.

Mission

Travelers Aid Emergency Assistance Agency's mission is to provide human services throughout the greater Sacramento area to individuals and families, especially to those where minor dependent children and other protected populations that are at risk. Our definitive goal is to stabilize individuals and/or the family unity and return them back into the mainstream of a self-sufficient, healthy, and productive environment.

Needs

To continue to assist low income individuals or families with utility and rental assistance.

To continue to provide emergency housing (motel vouchers) to homeless families with minor children.

To improve the agency cash flow by $25,000 so assistance is provided faster and in greater volume.

To create a new program to assist homeless working poor families back into housing.

To provide volunteer hours needed to provide assistance to getting homeless poor families into housing.
