The Petal Connection (TPC) is a group of incredible volunteers who gather together to bring love and joy to hospice patients, their families and seniors in our community. Generous donors supply us with flowers and vases that are repurposed into beautiful, colorful gifts. This random act of kindness blesses not only the recipient but also the person whose hands assemble the bouquets. It is an amazing gift knowing that you can bring a smile to someone in need of joy at a difficult time in their life, with such a simple concept. We call it recycling the love!

TPC currently gifts bedside bouquets to 15 local hospice agencies on a weekly basis. All extra bouquets, are gifted to local senior living homes and Meals on Wheels recipients letting tthem know they are loved and not forgotten.  With our energetic volunteers we are able to create and gift on average 1,000+ bouquets a month. In the past 10 years, TPC has gifted over 105,000 bouquets and that number continually grows.

Mission

The Petal Connection is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect beautiful floral bouquets to local hospice patients and seniors in need of joy. Our volunteers repurpose flowers to create colorful bedside bouquets using donated flowers and vases. The Petal Connection partners with hospice and care facilities throughout Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties to connect these joyful bouquets with their patients and residents.

Needs

TPC will be continuing our "Grow a Row" program where we grow our own flowers on different sites throughout the community. These additional fresh flowers will brighten the lives of even more of those in end-of-life care. There are many costs associated with farming fresh flowers, but the amazing, fresh product has greatly enhanced our mission.

TPC is in need of funds to cover the cost of rent, floral supplies, greenery to supplement the flowers donated, office supplies, printing supplies, and everyday expenses to keep our organization running smoothly and efficiently.

The Petal Connection would love a delivery van to pick up and deliver flowers.

TPC would not exist without our amazing volunteers, who are the foundation for our success. Additional funds will allow us to provide a quarterly training program in instruction and floral design for our current and new volunteers.

Nonprofit board training is essential to our growth. Support to attend important nonprofit workshops would benefit our overall mission.

Equity Statement

At The Petal Connection, we believe that when people feel respected and included they can be more creative, innovative, and successful. We are committed to an inclusive workplace to volunteer that represents many different cultures, backgrounds and viewpoints. Our volunteers represent people from all walks of life to connect, creating a welcoming environment for all.
