At Stanford Sierra Youth & Families (SSYAF), we have been committed to permanency and the empowerment of youth and families since 1900.

We believe each and every child deserves the love, safety, and unconditional commitment of a family and the opportunity to develop as a healthy and happy young adult.

Through a continuum of care, we empower youth and families to overcome challenges together, as well as connect youth in foster care to the permanent loving families they need and deserve. We support the entire family with professional treatment and compassionate care so every youth has the opportunity to thrive at home, in school, and in the community.

Within our programs, SSYAF serves over 2,365 youth annually. Comprehensive services and support are extended to their siblings and caregivers, creating a broader reach of a combined 5,913 youth and families served throughout 17 Northern California counties.

Transforming lives by nurturing permanent connections and empowering families to solve challenges together, so every child can thrive.

There are more than 4,000 youth in foster care in the Sacramento area. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to bring awareness and support to the mental health needs of youth in foster care and other vulnerable children. Each year we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families.

Unrestricted funding is especially helpful, as it allows us to direct your support where it's most needed and can have the most impact.

Support for the Wonder Mentoring Program is vital. Wonder recruits and trains adult volunteers to serve as mentors to local youth in foster care. It is a critical program helping up to 70 kids each year. This program's funding relies on the generosity of the community.

We also ask that you open your heart and home to a youth in foster care. We need safe, loving families for local children in foster care.
