Seniors First is celebrating 52 years of serving seniors living in Placer County. With over 90,000 senior citizens residing in Placer County, many do not have access to these critical quality of life services. Seniors First exists to provide programs, services, and long-term support to help Placer County seniors.

Seniors First is working to make this vision a reality by offering programs that provide:
- Safe and reliable transportation
- Nutritious meals and food
- Call Reassurance to the home-bound and isolated seniors
- Caregiver support
- Assistance with housing placement
- Information and referral resources for seniors

Giving Activity

Seniors First's mission is to provide long-term support and services to help Placer County older adults maintain their independence and thrive.

FUNDS FOR MEAL SUBSIDIES: Due to the pandemic our Meals on Wheels (MOW) program peaked at services to nearly 500 seniors and is currently serving 450 meals a day, five days a week. This is a 165% increase from 2022. This program increases access to nutritious food by providing hot and frozen meals to Placer County seniors. The daily safety check increases access to other vital services and decreases feeling of isolation or loneliness.

DELIVERY VEHICLE: Demand for our meal programs has created a need for an additional delivery van. The van would transport meals to Senior Cafes and make home meal deliveries.

CALL REASSURANCE VOLUNTEERS: We currently have a waitlist for seniors requesting to participate in our call reassurance program. We also are in need of volunteers for our Meals on Wheels program.

Great Board Members wanted! We're searching for people with experience in fundraising, marketing, and technology.

Our technology is aging and reaching capacity. We need funds and support to update our network infrastructure.
