Since 1968, River City Food Bank (RCFB) has been a beacon of hope for those facing hunger, evolving from a modest food closet into a lifeline for more than 300,000 people in Sacramento County each year. Our programs serve low-income families, college students, children, seniors, the chronically ill, refugees/asylum-seekers, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those living with disabilities. All are welcome.
In 2023, thanks to generous supporters like you, RCFB distributed a staggering 3 million pounds of healthy, meaningful food to 308,005 of our neighbors in need.
But hunger persists, and our mission remains urgent. Your donation isn't just a gift of food - it is a child going to bed with a full stomach, a senior feeling valued, and a family sitting at the dinner table enjoying a meal.
Together, we can turn hunger into hope.
Join us in the fight against hunger. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community where no one goes to bed hungry.
Donate today and be a part of something truly impactful.

River City Food Bank's mission is to alleviate hunger in Sacramento County by providing consistent access to healthy, meaningful food for all.
1. Unrestricted support- this allows RCFB to purchase healthy foods such as fresh produce, and support the community needs as they change throughout the year. For every $2 donated, a neighbor facing hunger receives 1 healthy meal.
2. Event Sponsorship- RCFB hosts one fundraiser each year called Empty Bowls. The funding raised from this event provides critical support for our programs, including the purchase and distribution of fresh, seasonal groceries four times per week.
3. Volunteers- RCFB would not be able to do the work that we do without the hard work and dedication of more than 1200 volunteers each year. Click here to sign up today: https://rivercityfoodbank.org/volunteer-your-time/
At River City Food Bank, we are steadfast in our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every individual is welcomed with open arms. We recognize the inherent dignity and worth of all people, regardless of their background, circumstances, or needs. Our mission is guided by the principle of equity, ensuring that our services are accessible to everyone, without barriers or judgment.
All are welcome.
