Equity Statement
At Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, our commitment to Culture and Belonging is to foster a sense of Belonging for staff, volunteers, and communities we serve.
Culture reflects how we show up for one another, that is, our shared values, norms, and everyday practices. Belonging is the outcome we’re working toward: a space where everyone — especially those who have been historically silenced, underestimated, or marginalized — can bring their whole selves to work or to our health centers without fear of exclusion and harm. Ultimately, it's about fostering an environment where our shared humanity is not up for debate and where people feel seen, safe, valued, supported, and connected.
Our dedication to these principles remains steadfast. As an organization, PPMM will continue to:
- Collect and track staff and patient demographic data to ensure representation.
- Review our internal policies to uphold fairness, transparency, and accountability.
- Provide training and learning opportunities relating to culture and belonging.
- Engage with our Culture and Belonging Committee.
- Collaborate with our community partners and elected officials to advocate for access to sexual and reproductive health.
- Offer sex education and gender-affirming care in a creative, innovative way.
- Protect our undocumented patients to the fullest extent possible.
