Mission of Grace Foundation

In 1998, Carol Davis left corporate America to start Mission of Grace Foundation after being frustrated seeing thousands of dollars being invested in personal growth and leadership development training without a spiritual component. She felt people were SEEKING, SEEKING, SEEKING, but never finding true purpose and meaning. Additionally, she was tired of people in the Christian church being GLUED TO THE PEW, rather than using their talents, skills, and giftedness to serve God and others outside of church walls.

These dissatisfactions led her to leave the corporate training field to start Mission of Grace. She desired to blend top-notch personal growth and leadership development training with Biblical truths, and also had a dream of having a conference and retreat center. Her passion was to MOBILIZE AND DEPLOY people of purpose to live their missions with intention from the foundation of God's grace.

She started writing and training the PASSPORT TO PURPOSE curriculum to help people find clarity of purpose and direction. She began Mission of Grace as a faith-based non-profit training ministry, rather than a for-profit business because she also had a vision for eventually serving those making especially difficult transitions, i.e. homeless, the addicted, and prisoners - which has since happened. Being a nonprofit has provided the opportunity for donors to invest in and further the organization's work, especially when serving low and non-paying participants. See the Program section for more info.

After a fourteen-year pursuit, Mission of Grace acquired THE GRAND ISLAND MISSION property in the Sacramento River Delta.

The 100-year-old historical, mission-style building is currently a renovation project that will be a future cause-based weekend conference, retreat, and event center with a midweek transitional learning center for women. The facility will also be used as a training center for outside groups and Mission of Grace Foundation programs. See the Program section for more info.

Mission

Mission of Grace Foundation is a training and equipping center on a mission to MOBILIZE AND DEPLOY PEOPLE OF PURPOSE - people who live their God-given missions with confidence, courage, and conviction!

We believe each person has a purpose to fulfill, thus we are on a quest to END PURPOSELESS LIVING!

To accomplish this, we provide inspirational SPEAKING, TRAINING, COACHING, EVENTS, and RETREATS to help people of purpose find, follow and fulfill their life mission, gracefully.

Needs

GENERAL SUPPORT – After being an all-volunteer organization for almost twenty-five years, the time is coming when we may need one or two paid staff at the core of our organization to provide consistent support for our various endeavors. Without this paid support over the past couple of years, it has been difficult to move things forward with focused consistency.

BUILDING FUNDS – Materials need to be purchased to help our volunteers continue the renovation of the Grand Island Mission project. The next projects are installing gutters on the building and repairing/rebuilding approximately 40 windows. We also have need of a water well pump and metal roofing panels for repairing sheds.

VOLUNTEERS – We love having volunteers help us with maintaining The Mission, including mowing, pruning, raking, weeding and power washing. Skilled labor is also needed for our next renovation projects - framers, window, and tile installers, etc. When we have fundraising events, volunteers with creativity and organizational skills are needed.

YARD EQUIPMENT – Working mowers, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, power washers, etc. to improve and maintain the grounds at the Grand Island Mission.
