The Kiwanis Club of Carmichael is a welcoming, community-driven organization dedicated to serving children and families in the Carmichael area. With nearly 100 members from all walks of life, we come together to make a meaningful impact through hands-on service and heartfelt connection.

As a club we have proudly partnered with local organizations such as San Juan Unified School District, Carmichael and Mission Oaks Park Districts, SMUD, Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, local governmental agencies and organizations, and many others to extend our reach and deepen our support for the community.
Kiwanis Clubs everywhere serve three areas of community engagement.
- We raise and distribute funds to community service projects that better the community.
- We put our backs into these projects as volunteers.
- We foster the next generation of leaders through school-based Kiwanis clubs clubs (Service Leadership Program)
Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club. Kiwanis Club of Carmichael members stage hundreds of service projects amounting to more than 12,000 hours of service a year. Each year, we raise over $150,000 to be distributed throughout the community, to fund projects in schools and that serve families. Kiwanis Club of Carmichael has built all-access playgrounds, restocked libraries, supplied food pantries, supported special needs children with hearing and visual aids, hosted diversity fairs, improved area nature recreation areas with trees and clean-up, and stuffed backpacks with school supplies.
We build the next generation of leaders through Service Leadership Programs (SLP) with Key Clubs at three area High Schools, a Builders Club at a middle school, K-Kids club at an elementary school, and Circle K club at American River Community College. These clubs contribute hundreds of hours of community service through service projects the students learn to organize and complete each year.

These Kiwanis programs for youth and young adults instill community service as a way of life to create the next generation of community leaders. For instance, Key Club, the world's oldest and largest student-led service organization for high school students, encourages leadership development through service to others. Members in these clubs find purpose and self-worth through park cleanups, food drives and other projects. This early exposure to participating and doing good works in the community provides lifelong skills and friendships with other like-minded youth and families.
