Reliable access to technology is foundational to participation in today’s economy. Education systems, workforce applications, and essential services increasingly operate online, yet many individuals in our local communities still lack consistent access to a functional device and stable digital resources.

iDream directly addresses this digital divide by collecting, refurbishing, and gifting Apple iPads, MacBooks, laptops, desktops, and iPhones at no cost to qualified recipients.

To date, our measurable impact includes:

  • Years serving the community: 8

  • Total devices gifted: 610

  • Annual gifting goal: 72 devices

Each device supports tangible outcomes:

Mission

The Mac Give Back Project is to help close the digital divide. We are a nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation that acquires, refurbishes, and enhances used Apple devices and computers, then gifts them to individuals and families in need. We also recruit and train volunteers who provide hands-on technical guidance and digital literacy support to recipients. Through this work, we strengthen communities, expand opportunity, and help ensure that access to technology does not determine who can learn, work, and succeed in today’s modern world.

Needs

To continue closing the digital divide in our community, iDream relies on financial contributions to fund the full restoration and distribution of technology devices.

Big Day of Giving donations directly support: Purchase of used laptops, desktops, MacBooks, and iPads for refurbishment and ancillary items (chargers, keyboards, wireless stylus pens, computer mice/pads)

Each device we gift is restored, secure, and ready for immediate use.

Your contribution helps ensure students, job seekers, and families receive reliable technology for education, employment, and essential digital access.

Every dollar transforms equipment into opportunity.

Equity Statement

We support applicants from Sacramento, Yolo, and Solano counties who lack access to technology and fills out a short application on our website. As part of our mission we provide internship opportunities to students and others in the community every quarter. On special occasions we've sent our computers internationally. We now have computers in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Liberia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Brazil, Mexico and China.
