Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) serves more than 20,000 girl and adult members across 18 counties. GSHCC operates regional program centers in Sacramento and Modesto, including two girl-led, girl-built STEM Center + Makerspaces. At Girl Scouts, we believe that when girls succeed, so does society.
5.1.2025, 5:00pm update: Thanks to our incredible Girl Scout community, we’ve already met our initial Big Day of Giving goal—but we’re not done yet! With your continued support, we can keep the momentum going and aim even higher by surpassing last year’s total of $21,575 and 124 donors.
Every gift matters. Each dollar helps unlock life-changing opportunities for local girls—from memberships to unforgettable camp adventures, and everything in between.
THANK YOU to everyone who’s contributed, shared, and rallied behind this mission—you’re making a real difference!
A Girl Scout membership opens the door to adventure, leadership, and lifelong friendships—but for some families, enrolling their girl can feel out of reach if they’re unsure she can fully participate. Uniforms, activities, and event fees add up, making financial aid essential. Last year alone, GSHCC provided over $138,000 in financial assistance to more than 6,000 girls—ensuring every girl, no matter her circumstances, could be part of something bigger.
More than 50 million women in America today enjoyed Girl Scouts during their childhood. Help us keep Girl Scouts accessible to ALL. A gift of just $45 ensures a full year of membership for a girl—$450 could help a whole troop afford a year's worth of Girl Scout experiences. Your generosity helps girls discover a world of possibilities.
When you give, you’re doing more than covering a membership fee. You’re opening doors to leadership, adventure, and sisterhood for a girl who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Let's make a difference together!
Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Needs
Invest in the next generation of problem-solvers, go-getters, dreamers, and doers! From reaching the outer limits of space to stocking their local food pantry, there is no challenge too big or need too small for a Girl Scout to tackle.
Girl Scouts sets girls up with the skills they need to be successful in life. Whether it's through trying something new in a badge series, meeting an expert in an interesting field, or navigating friendships and teamwork, Girl Scouts develop skills like resiliency, compassion, and leadership.
Creating our future, one challenge at a time.
Girl Scouts Heart of Central of California is committed to making Girl Scouting available to girls who, without financial help, would not be able to participate. The inability to pay should never stand in the way of girl's hope and dreams. The support received from public contributions helps provide equal access to all girls to our programs and activities, such as camp, outdoor adventures, Under Construction, civic engagement, and STEM workshops.
Equity Statement
Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) values diversity, equity, and inclusion, both in concept and in practice. Across 18 counties, our girls, volunteers, alumnae, and staff comprise diverse communities and identities that encompass ability, ethnicity, gender identity, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
We acknowledge the historical impacts of systemic racism and oppression that affect our Girl Scout family and society, which continue to have an impact today. GSHCC is wholly committed to building an anti-racist and anti-oppressive environment. It is a Girl Scout Movement-wide journey based on respect for one another. We find strength in the knowledge that we embark on this journey together.
At GSHCC, our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We offer a diverse and inclusive array of programming and perspectives with the goal of ensuring all girls, volunteers, and staff have a safe space, where they can learn and grow and be their authentic selves.
