Founded in 1994, the Folsom Concert Association has spent more than three decades presenting affordable live music to the community while encouraging an appreciation of the performing arts through outreach programs.
It began when a group of Folsom residents passionate about the performing arts came together to form the association’s first Board of Directors, united in their commitment to bring quality live music to the Folsom community. Folsom Concert Association's first full concert season was in 1995-1996. Each year since then, FCA has offered at least five concerts to the community and the surrounding region.
Recognizing the importance of bringing music to both youth and seniors, FCA established outreach programs to fill this need. FCA brings music performances to seniors living in residential, memory care, and independent senior living communities in the Sacramento Region. FCA has also facilitated the donation of musical instruments to local schools, helping them to maintain their music programs. Carrying the idea further, FCA provides the opportunity for youth to showcase their talent at our performances. In addition, FCA established a program to provide scholarships to students from the surrounding communities who plan to pursue the performing arts as part of their college studies. To date, FCA has awarded $96,000 in college scholarships to 32 high school seniors pursuing careers in the performing arts. These programs are made possible thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, concertgoers, and supporters.
We are a nonprofit organization run by unpaid volunteers from our community. Our board members are responsible for programming, fundraising, marketing, finances, and more.
