Sacramento area parents created Education Francaise de Sacramento (EFSAC) in 2011 with the goal of providing an opportunity for French-language education to French-speaking and non-French speaking children. French is spoken as a primary language in many countries around the world and is one of the official languages of the United Nations. Learning a second language provides a passport to the wider world and fosters empathy. Most Sacramento area schools do not offer second language learning opportunities until middle school or high school, although learning a second language can increase cognitive skills, and the ability to become fluent in a second language decreases with age. EFSAC classes are taught by native French speakers, experienced in teaching French to both French speakers and non-French speakers. In 2020, EFSAC is teaching online, offering 10 online classes to students, and semi-private classes to families. EFSAC is also a proud vendor to 4 local charter schools.
Education Francaise de Sacramento is a non-profit youth organization, created in order to offer an affordable French language and cultural education to French-speaking and non-French speaking students in the Sacramento Area. EFSAC is an Organization FLAM (Français Langue Maternelle) by the Ministère des Affaires Étrangères and by l'Agence de l'Enseignement du Français a l'Etranger, France). There are 16 FLAMS in the United States, and EFSAC is the second FLAM created in California.
Financial donations to extend our program to local schools where our program is needed and be able to pay all the administration fees, rental fees of the school district. With the COVID19 pandemic, EFSAC is in need of support.
Financial donations to ensure returning students, siblings discounts to keep our program affordable. Financial donations in order to pay rental fees and expenses on classrooms when we are going back onsite in Fall 2021.
