$30,000 Goal

Since our very first show in 2001, EDMT has been helping young people build confidence and self-esteem. While this is done in the studio and on stage in front of an audience, the benefits carry forward throughout their personal and professional lives.

Our productions are performed at one of the premiere theaters in the region, the Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College.  What surprises many people is the quality of the shows, done with young performers, and our 'Everyone Performs' Philosophy. Our approach is that everyone who auditions for the show makes the cast and performs on stage. This is true for our Training Shows, Rising Stars, and Mainstage productions.

We have embarked on our next phase by creating an initial performing arts venue with our very own resident stage.  All fundraising efforts will now be dedicated to raising the capital needed to purchase our building and create a permanent venue for the entire community to share.

Youth Performance Opportunities

Five musicals per year at either the Harris Center for the Arts or our local performance facility, High Voltage elite tour group cabarets and community performances, EDMT Tap Company community performances.

Exclusive musical theatre training for youth in the areas of acting, dance, vocals and theatre tech.

Summer Camps and Master Classes

Six weeks of themed musical theatre summer camps each concluding with a performance.  Professional industry master classes throughout the year.

Local School Outreach

Mission

EDMT's goal is 'Building Confidence for Life, Through Excellence in Theater Production and Performing Arts Training.' We understand that we are not just in the performing arts business. We are in the youth development business. Theater is the vehicle we use to build confidence.

Our target is to fund 30 scholarships for a total of $20,000 annually ($600 per performer/student). We want young people to be able to participate in the arts no matter their financial situation.

Equity Statement

El Dorado Musical Theatre has established a safe place for young people to learn and gain tools to express creative talents through all aspects of musical theatre.
