$25,000 Goal

College Track is a comprehensive college completion program that equips students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree, with tools to empower them in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, purpose, and power.

From ninth grade through college graduation, our 10-year program systematically removes the academic, financial, and social-emotional barriers that keep first-generation students from low-income communities from completing college and thriving in the workforce.

Today, College Track serves 3,800 students across 12 communities in California, Colorado, Louisiana, and the D.C. Metro Area, with more than 1,300 alumni leading a movement to democratize potential. In Sacramento alone, 390 students and 20 alumni are part of this transformative journey, where our students are graduating with bachelor’s degrees at more than 2.5 times the rate of their peers from underserved households.

Mission

College Track’s mission is to equip students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, purpose, and power.

Needs

As national research continually demonstrates, a bachelor’s degree is the most direct pathway to economic mobility, civic engagement, and lifelong wellness. Despite the promise of higher education, there exists an unequal playing field in college access and graduation rates. The most recent US Census data reveals deep racial disparities in educational outcomes in Sacramento: 43% of White residents hold bachelor’s degrees, while just 25% of Black and 20% of Latinx residents do.
