Needs

The ALS Association is a national nonprofit with a local office in Citrus Heights, serving people living with ALS and their families throughout Northern California.

Support from Big Day of Giving helps us:

- Fund critical ALS research to develop treatments and accelerate a cure

- Provide local care services and support for individuals and families affected by ALS in Northern California

- Advance advocacy efforts that improve quality of life and access to care for people living with ALS

To sustain and grow our impact in the Sacramento region, we also need:

- Volunteers to support the Walk to Defeat ALS Sacramento, including planning, registration, set-up, and event-day logistics

- Executive Committee members who can help open doors, drive fundraising, recruit teams, and strengthen community partnerships

- Corporate sponsors and partners to help fund the Walk to Defeat ALS and expand awareness of ALS locally

Big Day of Giving plays a critical role in helping the ALS Association remain visible, engaged, and impactful in the Sacramento community while advancing our mission to make ALS livable and cure it.

Equity Statement

We are dedicated to cultivating an environment in which all voices are raised and heard as we serve, engage, advocate for, and empower people with ALS. We will maintain a community that resolves inequities that impede progress in the fight against ALS and ensures our mission-driven work is informed by multiple perspectives and experiences.

Our Promise

- We pledge to ensure dignity and opportunity for all people engaged in the fight to end ALS.

- We pledge to invest in recruiting and retaining a workforce and volunteer cohort that is representative of the ALS community.

- We pledge to be thoughtful and judicious in our language and culture-building, seeking out diverse perspectives and experiences to achieve our vision of a world without ALS.
