As a 'Social Justice-trauma informed crisis agency', A Community For Peace believes in creating an environment, programming and service delivery in a manner that addresses Oppression Lens Advocacy for the life span of trauma and effects our understanding of how the trauma of domestic violence/family violence and sexual assault affects the whole life experience of the people: individuals, children and families we serve. ACFP provides prevention activities and programs that seek to mitigate and eliminate the impact of trauma and violence by reducing/eliminating repeat violent relationships for first time victims and for victims with two or more abusive relationships. Intervening in the inter-generational cycle for kids exposed to domestic violence and family violence. Educating, advocating and engaging skill training for teen girls/young adults in the prevention of sexual assault and domestic violence. To engage our local community as our partners in peace to actively intervene, when safe and applicable on any form of violence between individuals, anywhere.

To serve children and adult survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in underserved, marginalized communities, inclusive of dominant culture, in our region.

To create 'Safe Access' and Cultural Bridges to systems mandated to serve them.

Needs

Seeking program funding for expanded holistic legal services that addresses civil rights violations, immigration issues and supports clients in obtaining restraining orders; court prep; safety planning & court support.

Seeking funding for a dedicated vehicle to transport our clients to and from the safe house, court appointments, doctor appointments, etc. Expanding services to include mobile services that allows our advocate team to go to where the people are at.

Housing needs for second stage housing for victims and their children in transition from safe house to securing their own housing. Unrestricted funds provide greater flexibility to meet the exact needs for each client's circumstances.

Volunteers needed to assist with crisis line calls, children's services, reception, event planning, and data entry.

Seeking funding for office supplies i.e.: laptops, printer supplies, brochures, educational materials for clients and community agencies.
