$25,000 Goal

Friends of Yolo County Animal Services is working diligently to help all shelter animals in our Yolo County Shelter.  We're reaching out to you today with a hopeful heart and a mission to make a difference. As you know, there are countless animals waiting for their forever homes, and we want to ensure they receive the love and care they deserve while they wait.

Our shelter is currently at or near maximum capacity, and many of these animals have medical issues that require outside veterinary specialists and specialized fosters to help them get to the point of being adopted. Your donation can make a world of difference for these animals, allowing us to provide the vital care they need and ensuring they are comfortable and happy during their stay.

With your support, we can accomplish so much. We can provide medical care, toys, bedding, and other comforts that make all the difference in their daily lives. We can also work tirelessly to increase adoptions and find loving homes for these amazing animals.

Even a small donation of $25 can make a big difference in the life of a shelter animal. Your generosity will help us reach our goal and make a real impact in the lives of these animals.

Please, share this email with your friends and family, and encourage them to donate as well. Together, we can ensure that these animals receive the care and love they deserve, and that they can look forward to a bright future.

Thank you so much for your support.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Friends of the Yolo County Animal Services primary objective is to assist the Yolo County Animal Services, Sheriff's Office of Yolo County, in its mission to improve the welfare of animals in Yolo County. Such assistance includes but is not limited to: seeking donations and grants to enhance the conditions for animals during the time they are in the care of the County, either in the shelter facility or in foster, by increasing the rate of positive outcomes, by expanding spay neuter programs for impounded, stray or owned animals and support of the training of shelter personnel and volunteer programs that provide enrichment and adoption outreach for companion animals from the shelter.

Needs

Our shelter needs your help to raise critical funds for animals both inside the shelter and in our community. Shelter medicine is limited and without your help, some animals will go untreated. Friends of Yolo County Animal Services has built cost-reduction relationships with several local vets to ensure that our shelter dogs are given what they need. From tooth extractions, removal of tumors, medicine, food, supplies, and more, no animal should suffer. If you are able to help make a difference in the lives of our animals, we would be extremely grateful.

In addition, we are working toward raising funds for an adoption van to help transport animals along with providing microchips and life-saving vaccines to our homeless and rural community members.

Equity Statement

Friends of Yolo County Animal Services stands firmly behind the belief that every animal deserves a loving and secure forever home. Fulfilling this mission requires ensuring equitable access to animal welfare for all Yolo County residents.

We achieve this through several key initiatives:

Breaking down adoption barriers: We actively work to make adoption accessible by offering flexible adoption fees, connecting adopters with pet care assistance programs, and maintaining a welcoming and streamlined adoption process.

Reaching diverse communities: Yolo County Animal Services is committed to engaging with Yolo County's vibrant cultural landscape. We utilize multilingual outreach materials, provide cultural sensitivity training for our staff, and actively seek partnerships with local organizations to better serve our community.

Serving those most in need: Recognizing that access to veterinary care, pet resources, and animal welfare education can be limited in certain areas, we prioritize funding toward programs that provide services and resources towards Yolo County's underserved communities.

By promoting equity within our shelter and throughout Yolo County, we believe we can build a more compassionate and inclusive community for all animals and the people who love them.
