Women Of Color On The Move recognizes respect, responsibility, honesty, and fairness, and loves new challenges and opportunities to maximize the benefits within the community. Each person's hands we touch with hope through our sources of guidance is timeless and seldom changes in our community. Our program facilitates the successful reintegration of individuals back into their communities equipped with the tools to be drug-free, and healthy, by raising awareness through community outreach and education in a safe environment.

Our program focus on a specific integrated model of treatment for people affected by drug use and dependence in the community which provides a continuum of care from outreach and low threshold services, through detoxification and stabilization to aftercare and integration, including maintenance pharmacotherapy. It involves the coordination of health, social, and other non-specialist services needed to meet the patient's needs. Strong support is also given to the patient's family and the community to address the drug and alcohol problems in their complexity and to ensure efficient and long-term results.

Equity Statement

Equity Statement

Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) is committed to advancing equity, dignity, and justice for all women, youth, and families in our community. Since 2014, our mission has centered on creating access, removing barriers, and ensuring that every person—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or lived experience—has the opportunity to thrive.

Equity is not just a principle we value; it is the foundation of how we design our programs, deliver services, and engage with the communities we serve. We believe that true equity requires:

Understanding and addressing systemic disparities that disproportionately impact women and girls of color, especially in areas of substance use, mental health, education, and economic opportunity.

Creating culturally responsive programs that honor identity, lived experience, and community voice.

Providing access to prevention, treatment, and support services that meet people where they are, without judgment or discrimination.

Ensuring representation and inclusion in leadership, staffing, decision-making, and community partnerships.

Listening deeply to the stories and needs of our community, and shaping our work based on their wisdom and experience.

WOCOTM’s commitment to equity means we actively work to dismantle stigma, eliminate health disparities, and create pathways for long-term healing, empowerment, and economic stability. Our programs—including substance abuse prevention, workforce development, and financial management—are built on the belief that everyone deserves the resources and support necessary to lead a healthy, fulfilling, and self-sufficient life.

We recognize that equity is ongoing work. We continuously evaluate our practices, challenge inequities, and collaborate with community members to ensure our services uplift those who have been historically marginalized. Through education, advocacy, and compassionate action, Women of Color On The Move strives to build a safer, healthier, and more just community for all.
