Producing high quality community theater takes a village!

Village Stage Productions is a nonprofit community theater in Elk Grove. Founded in 2018 by a small group of passionate volunteers, we began with a simple idea: that theater should be welcoming, affordable, and accessible to everyone.

We are now a thriving organization serving youth and adults across the region through inclusive productions and arts education programs. We produce five live shows per year and are rapidly expanding our theater education workshops at local schools.

Our success is defined by our ability to offer quality live theater at an affordable price for both our audiences and our participants. At the heart of this work is a commitment to accessibility. We welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels, and work to remove barriers that keep people from the arts.

Through hands-on theater experiences, participants build confidence, creativity, and leadership skills. They learn to collaborate, take risks, and explore their potential both on and off the stage.

Our programs support artistic expression, education, and well-being, with impact that extends beyond the stage. Each rehearsal, performance, and classroom visit helps strengthen community connection.

This is how we continue to grow and serve our community.

Growing artists, leaders, and community - one performance at a time.

Mission

Our mission is to foster a connected and creative community through inclusive, hands-on theater that welcomes all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Through affordable, high-quality productions and immersive education in both performance and technical arts, we cultivate growth, leadership, and collaboration—nurturing personal expression, emotional well-being, and a lasting sense of belonging on stage and beyond.

Our vision is to create a vibrant, inclusive community where people of all ages come together through theater to connect, collaborate, and celebrate diversity. Through immersive arts education, we aim to set the next generation of leaders up for success by nurturing creativity, emotional well-being, and a lasting sense of belonging.

Needs

Village Stage Productions relies on community support to keep theater accessible and affordable while continuing to grow our programs. Contributions support both general operating expenses and program-specific needs.

Our current priorities include:

- Covering rising costs for rent, insurance, storage, and ticketing services

- Upgrading lighting, sound, and visual elements to improve the audience experience

- Expanding accessibility for participants and audience members with visual, hearing, mobility, or other functional needs

- Strengthening artistic direction, community outreach, and organizational operations

Equity Statement

Our guiding philosophy is that there should be no barriers preventing a community from accessing the arts. This philosophy guides everything we do, from maintaining low ticket prices and actor participation fees to identifying and overcoming barriers to accessibility.

We are committed to a culture where every person is respected, feels safe, and can participate fully, regardless of background or identity. This commitment sets expectations and responsibilities for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

All volunteers, performers, and board members are expected to reinforce this commitment through compliance with established written policies for nondiscrimination, accessibility, and youth safety adopted by our Board of Directors. These policies are included under the documents section for review.
