$1,000 Goal

Village Stage Productions is a nonprofit community theater in Elk Grove, California, dedicated to growing artists, leaders, and community - one performance at a time. Founded in 2018 by a small group of passionate volunteers, Village began with a simple idea: that theater should be welcoming, affordable, and accessible to everyone. What started as a handful of dreamers and a borrowed stage has grown into a thriving organization serving youth, adults, and schools across the region through inclusive productions and arts education programs.

At the heart of Village Stage Productions is a commitment to inclusion and accessibility. We welcome participants and audiences of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels, and work to remove barriers that keep people from the arts. Through hands-on theater experiences, we nurture youth empowerment and leadership, creating spaces where young people can explore their potential, take creative risks, and build lifelong confidence and skills.

Our programs emphasize artistic expression, educational growth, and well-being, giving participants the chance to tell stories, collaborate with others, and develop social-emotional awareness that extends far beyond the stage. Every rehearsal, performance, and classroom visit strengthens community connection, reminding us that theater is not just about what happens under the lights - it’s about the relationships, empathy, and shared joy that grow around it.

Mission

Our mission is to foster a connected and creative community through inclusive, hands-on theater that welcomes all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Through affordable, high-quality productions and immersive education in both performance and technical arts, we cultivate growth, leadership, and collaboration - nurturing personal expression, emotional well-being, and a lasting sense of belonging on stage and beyond.

Needs

Village Stage Productions is experiencing a period of rapid growth as we expand programs for youth, schools, and community members across Elk Grove and the greater Sacramento area. With participation doubling over the past year and new partnerships forming with local schools, our current capacity is no longer enough to meet the community’s growing demand for accessible, high-quality arts experiences. To sustain this momentum and continue providing inclusive, affordable theater education, we are seeking funding to strengthen our organizational foundation and support our long-term sustainability.

Funding will support:

Program Expansion: Increase the number of in-school workshops, youth productions, and community performances to meet growing participation.

Staffing & Capacity Building: Establish paid administrative and teaching artist positions to sustain operations currently managed by volunteers.

Space & Equipment: Secure rehearsal, classroom, and performance spaces; purchase or upgrade essential lighting, sound, and set materials.

Accessibility & Affordability: Maintain low-cost participation options, scholarship opportunities, and free community events to ensure theater remains open to everyone.

Organizational Sustainability: Develop infrastructure for long-term growth, including volunteer training, program documentation, and strategic planning.

With community support, Village Stage Productions can continue growing artists, leaders, and community - one performance at a time, while building a sustainable foundation that ensures the arts remain accessible for years to come.
