Triad Family Services

A nonprofit organization

Triad Family Services is a Foster Family Agency dedicated to ensuring children and youth in foster care experience safety, stability, and belonging. We recruit, train, and support Resource Families who open their hearts and homes to children and youth (ages 0–21) who need a nurturing place to heal, grow, and thrive.

Our work is rooted in relationship and wraparound support. We partner with counties, schools, mental health providers, and community organizations to build a consistent team around every child and caregiver. We also provide ongoing coaching, training, and case management so Resource Parents are never doing this alone.

In addition, Triad Family Services is a foster-to-adopt agency. When reunification is not possible, we support Resource Families through the foster-to-adopt process and help children move toward permanency, lifelong connection, and stability.

Mission

Triad Family Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that has provided foster care services since 1988. Our agency is committed to ensuring children and families have the resources needed to establish, maintain, or rebuild permanent families where children are protected and nurtured.

Triad provides foster care services through offices in Sacramento and Oakland. We also serve the Antioch and Modesto regions. We place children and adolescents of all ages (birth to 21) in supportive foster homes, including those needing placement with large sibling groups and teen parents with infants.

Our mission is to provide carefully planned, effective, and supportive services to children and families involved in the foster care system. We address foster care through a three-pronged approachβ€”intervention, maintenance, and reunification. Our team of dedicated resource parents and skilled professionals is committed to providing the tools and support children need to heal, grow, and thrive into healthy adulthood.

Needs

Triad Family Services supports children and youth ages 0–21 in foster care. To meet needs across every age and stage, we welcome cash donations, in-kind items, and volunteer support. Our current needs include:

Cash donations (most flexible): helps us respond quickly to urgent needs and purchase items where gaps exist

Placement Bag supplies for new placements: hygiene items, pajamas, undergarments, and comfort items to help youth settle in with dignity on day one

Back-to-school support: school supplies and backpacks so children can start the school year prepared and confident

Playground project: funding and/or materials to create a safe playground space for foster youth to use during visits

Board games and activities to encourage connection and positive bonding during visits and family time

Gift cards to purchase snacks and refreshments for children and families during visits

Volunteers are needed for hands-on support, including organizing our storage room, sanitizing toys, and assisting with beautification projects such as light gardening and general grounds upkeep.

Every contribution, cash donations, supplies, gift cards, or volunteer hours; directly strengthens stability, comfort, and connection for foster youth ages 0–21.

Equity Statement

At Triad Family Services, we believe that every child and family deserves equitable access to safety, opportunity, and support; regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status. We recognize that systemic inequities exist and disproportionately affect the communities we serve.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive, anti- discrimination environment where all individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered. Through intentional practices, continuous learning, and community collaboration, we strive to remove barriers and create pathways to healing, belonging, and lifelong success for every child and caregiver.
