$12,000 Goal

Not every young adult in Sacramento sees a clear path forward.

Some are working part-time jobs without advancement. Some aren’t enrolled in college. Some have talent, drive, and ideas—but no roadmap, no network, and no one showing them how to turn potential into opportunity.

StartupSac exists to change that.

Since 2017, we have helped aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging business owners gain the practical skills, mentorship, and community connections they need to move from idea to action. Through cohort-based programs, hands-on workshops, and partnerships across the region, we create accessible pathways into business ownership and economic mobility.

In 2026, we are expanding this work through a Youth Workforce & Economic Pathways initiative serving young adults ages 18–24—particularly those not enrolled in four-year universities. With initial support from Golden 1 Credit Union and additional public funding proposals under review, this program will provide real-world exposure to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, workforce readiness, and direct connections to Sacramento’s innovation economy.

We don’t just teach theory. We help participants build confidence, professional networks, and tangible next steps.

When you support StartupSac, you’re not funding a concept. You’re helping a young person gain direction, skills, and access to opportunity that can change the trajectory of their life.

Mission

StartupSac’s mission is to expand access to entrepreneurship and economic opportunity in the greater Sacramento region. Through education, mentorship, and community connections, we equip individuals with the skills and support needed to launch businesses, build careers, and strengthen a more inclusive and resilient local economy.

Needs

StartupSac is entering an important phase of growth.

In 2026, we are expanding our work to serve young adults ages 18–24 through a new Youth Workforce & Economic Pathways initiative. Many of these young people are working in low-wage jobs without advancement or are not enrolled in college and lack access to professional networks and structured career guidance.

We are building a practical, hands-on pathway that combines entrepreneurship education, workforce readiness, financial literacy, and direct mentorship from local business leaders. Participants will gain real skills, real connections, and real next steps.

We have secured initial support from Golden 1 Credit Union and have additional public funding proposals under review. However, grant funding does not cover the full cost of outreach, program coordination, mentorship engagement, evaluation, and long-term sustainability.

Unrestricted community support allows us to:

Keep programs accessible regardless of income

Provide hands-on instruction and mentorship

Strengthen partnerships across Sacramento’s business community

Sustain high-quality programming and accountability

This Big Day of Giving, we are raising $12,000 to support StartupSac’s general operations and program delivery.

Your gift helps build clear pathways to economic mobility—right here in the Sacramento region.

Equity Statement

At StartupSac, we believe entrepreneurship and economic opportunity should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or resources. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable startup ecosystem by expanding access to education, mentorship, and professional networks for underrepresented and under-resourced individuals. By breaking down barriers and building clear pathways to opportunity, we help create a more diverse, resilient, and innovative Sacramento economy.
