The Stage At Burke Junction is El Dorado County’s newest, Non-Profit professional theater organization dedicated to sharing wonderful and entertaining performing arts experiences for our community.   The Stage audiences can expect to see high caliber theater, performed by local and regional talent equal to anything you might see in San Francisco or Chicago.   At The Stage, we bring the magic of live theater to our community. Your support helps us continue creating memorable experiences, fostering local talent, and keeping the arts alive. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference in ensuring our curtain rises for years to come. Thank you for being part of our story!

The Stage serves 3,000 to 5,000 residents annually with accessible education, entertainment, enrichment, and connection through the performing arts.  Research shows that exposure to high quality live performance improves outcomes on mental health, suicidal ideation, and dementia.  Seniors and women represent more than 60% of our regular audiences. These groups in particular are vulnerable to feelings of isolation and crave togetherness. Research shows that feelings of isolation and infrequent contact negatively impact mental health along with other factors such as disability, economic status or/and transportation.

Our passion is to produce shows that uplift our human experience, up close and warm.  Live contemporary and classic American theater, dance, song, sadness and laughter taking place on a stage that is surrounded on 3 sides by you, our honored guests…so close you can feel the actor’s heartbeat and witness their character struggles and triumphs.  We offer humanity’s most natural screen-replacement therapy, even if it’s only for a few hours.  Our hope is to honor the legacy of generations of writers, performers, and stagecraft that give us all the healing miracle of performance that inspires the best in all of us.

We look forward to your entrance to our little theater, and we hope you will have time to discover the shops, services and restaurants at Burke Junction, complementing your moment of culture and thought and taking shape at our unique old timey shopping center.

"As far back as I can remember, the theater has been a special place for me. I felt at home in the world I’d created along with the playwright and the audience, and I loved the communication that happened there onstage. This is why The Stage at Burke Junction is very important - so that the community at Cameron Park has a special place for coming together to create worlds and tell its stories. I hope you will enjoy doing so for many years to come."

~ Joan Glasser, Founder
