Southern University Alumni Federation: Sacramento Chapter
Our objective is to provide scholarship assistance to local graduating students in the Southern University Alumni currently located in the Sacramento Metro Area, Stockton, Fresno, Tracy, and Vallejo, CA who are planning to attend Southern University. Our assistance can be provided throughout the students’ tenure at the university.
Funds for the scholarships are created through chapter dues, donations but mostly through fundraisers led by members of the chapter.
The Chapter also provides an opportunity for graduates and former students from the Southern University that live in the local area to fellowship, stay connected to the university and also provide assistance to the University.
The mission is to support the goals and objectives of the Southern University System and its campuses through recruitment, financial support, public relations community outreach, talent, loyalty, dedication and commitment to high standards.
Sustained financial support is essential to expand scholarship opportunities and reduce financial barriers for students attending Southern University and A&M College. Ongoing scholarship funding enables the Southern University Alumni Federation to support student retention, academic achievement, and timely degree completion. Consistent investment also strengthens alumni engagement and ensures that deserving students have access to resources that promote leadership development, career readiness, and long-term success.
