Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. There are over 160,000 members in 120 countries and territories who contribute time and financial support to community-based projects and international projects that benefit women and girls.

Soroptimist International of Citrus Heights (SICH) is one of several local Soroptimist clubs in Sacramento County who believe in educating, empowering, and enabling women and girls. We are a group of dedicated people who volunteer their time, talents, and money to various service projects to improve the lives of women and children. In an atmosphere of fun and friendship and through hands-on projects and fundraisers, we provide financial assistance, scholarships, and education to women and girls in our local community and throughout the world.

SICH offers a Live Your Dream award, a Pansy Carrick Award, and several high school scholarships.

Although our organization does not provide services directly, we provide financial assistance to organizations within the community that do provide these services.  We support the Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD), the Citrus Heights Food Bank, Single Moms Strong, Blue Star Moms, the Children's Receiving Home (CRH), and the Mercy San Juan Hospital program that provides backpacks for human trafficking victims to name a few.

Soroptimist provides programs to women and girls to give them access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Soroptimist International of Citrus Heights (SICH) offers a Live Your Dream (LYD) award annually to women who are the primary source of financial support for their families. Our Dream It Be It Career Support program focuses on girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success.

Funds for an additional Live Your Dream award for a woman who is the head of her household so she can continue her education and at the same time provide for her family.

Funds to provide additional monetary donations to the Citrus Heights Food Locker so they can provide even more assistance to those in the community who need it during these challenging times.

Funds for additional gift cards for the CHPD to be given out by patrol officers to families they encounter who need food, diapers, formula, or basic necessities.

Funds to provide additional financial help to the Independent Living Skills program at the Children's Receiving Home and for their Sprouts library program.

Funds for additional postage for care packages that Blue Star Moms prepare to send to our troops overseas.
