Scouting Associates owns and maintains the cabin so many generations of Woodland youth will benefit having a place to learn leadership and outdoor skills.
The cabin was built in 1931 by a community effort of donations and labor. It is a replica of a mountain cabin with stone fireplace, meeting rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. The ambiance takes you to the great outdoors.
Our mission is to maintain the Woodland Boy Scout cabin in good working order so that the young to have a place to learn life skills and to grow into outstanding adults with service as part of their life.
There is a constant need to help pay for the day to day costs for the Boy Scout cabin as well as long range projects like painting, roof and floors.
The Scout cabin is open to all Scouting America units and endorses the Scouting Americas policy on equity: "Scouting America promotes a culture where each youth, volunteer, and employee feels a sense of belonging and builds communities where every person feels respected and valued.
Leading by example and encouraging each other to live by the values expressed by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we welcome families of all backgrounds to help prepare young people to serve as successful members and leaders of our nation’s increasingly diverse communities."
