$16,000 Goal

The Sacramento Delta Foundation, Inc. (SDF) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization founded in 1995. SDF provides financial support for the charitable work of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in the Greater Sacramento Region with a focus on women and youth development programs.

In its beginnings, the Sacramento Delta Foundation (SDF) partnered with other local community-based organizations to improve the circumstances of the African American community in the greater Sacramento area with emphasis on:

  • Education
  • International Awareness
  • Economic Development
  • Physical Health and Mental Health Awareness
  • Advocacy and Political Awareness

With support of these programs and activities, the SDF continues to engage with other not-for-profit entities for the purpose of promoting healthier lifestyles; increasing financial awareness; and educating and empowering women and families in under-resourced areas.

Mission

The Mission of SDF is to provide financial support to Sacramento community-based organizations for their community service and charitable efforts.

Since 1995, these partnerships have been supporting and contributing to underserved communities in the greater Sacramento region.

Needs

The Sacramento Delta Foundation, Inc. plans to continue our campaign of soliciting donations for scholarships. Our scholarships are awarded to high achieving, under-served, and needy high school seniors pursuing undergraduate degrees. We also provide re-entry scholarships to low-income heads of households who need a little extra help to get back into school and finish their degrees.

We plan to establish funding to provide community-based organizations grants focusing on specific health concerns (Mental Health and Awareness, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, and Obesity).

Our goal is to continue recruiting members of the community to serve on the Sacramento Delta Foundation Board. Community Board Members will take an active role in helping to build SDF's donor base and help us to outreach to a larger segment of the African American community, and other under-represented racial groups.

We want to raise sufficient funding to host on-going public forums to address social issues impacting the African American Community.

The Sacramento Delta Foundation needs office space to conduct monthly business meetings and direct service programs with youth.

Equity Statement

Sacramento Delta Foundation, Incorporated (SDF), is committed to being a leader in supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We value the diversity of the people and communities we serve and recognize and respect human differences and similarities.

To effectively advance access to justice, SDF believes we must engage in the full range of human experience paying particular attention to groups who have experienced injustice or inequity – past or current – and those who have experienced exclusion or barriers in society.
