Needs
Our Focus in 2025: Immigrant & Refugee Well-Being
This year, we are prioritizing the mental well-being of the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community. Immigrants and refugees who need support for optimal mental health often go without due to cultural stigma, language barriers, and lack of resources. By fostering connection, inclusion, and empowerment, we aim to create safe spaces where individuals can find support, resources, and a sense of belonging.
Immigrants and refugees often navigate complex challenges, from loss and trauma to uncertainty about the future. Providing mental health support and access to essential resources is crucial in helping them navigate these difficult circumstances.
Support Our Mission: Urgent Needs & How You Can Help
At the Sacramento Cultural and Linguistic Center (SCLC), we are committed to supporting immigrants, refugees, and diverse communities through essential services. However, we need your help to expand our services, so fewer members of our community face their challenges alone.
🔹 Immigration & Legal Assistance
1️⃣ Fund an Immigration Clinic – Help us establish a dedicated clinic to provide citizenship assistance, visa applications, work permits, and legal referrals.
2️⃣ Support Mr. Larry Khon’s Citizenship Assistance – For 20 years, Mr. Khon has volunteered to help over 2,400 families with immigration procedures. We seek funding to compensate his efforts and expand these services.
3️⃣ Legal Partnerships & Pro Bono Attorney Network – We need support to connect with a network of pro bono lawyers after losing our previous volunteers during the pandemic.
4️⃣ Fund Small Community Campaigns – Donations can support:
Stop Asian Hate initiatives to promote safety and awareness.
Cultural brokerage services for immigrants needing help with healthcare, legal issues, and employment.
Free interpretation services for individuals who cannot afford them.
🔹 Education & Cultural Support
5️⃣ Expand Cultural Competency & Language Services – Help fund ESL classes and cultural competence education.
6️⃣ Fund Community Integration Programs – Support initiatives like:
Connection Café – Monthly cultural exchange events.
Tea Meetups – Safe spaces for immigrants to share experiences and find support.
Community Celebrations – Highlighting diverse traditions and promoting unity.
🔹 Basic Operational Needs: Every Dollar Counts
7️⃣ Office Supplies & Resources – Even small donations of 10 dollars or more help cover printing costs, materials for legal paperwork, and outreach materials.
8️⃣ Technology & Accessibility Support – Funding needed for computers, translation software, and digital resources to improve service accessibility.
How You Can Make an Impact
✔ One-Time Donations – Help fund a specific initiative that speaks to you.
✔ Recurring Monthly Support – Even $10/month ensures continued services.
