Giving Activity

Mission

At Sacramento Amazons Islanders Rugby Inc, our mission is to uplift and empower youth from underserved communities through rugby. We create a safe, supportive environment where athletes can excel both in the sport and in their academics.

We are dedicated to:

Sportsmanship: Fostering respect and integrity on and off the field.

Education: Encouraging academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.

Safety: Ensuring a secure environment for all participants.

By focusing on these key areas, we help our players overcome challenges and build a successful future. Our goal is to inspire and prepare every individual for a brighter tomorrow.

Needs

Sacramento Amazons Islanders Rugby Inc. is more than a youth sports organization — it is a pathway for discipline, leadership, and belonging for young people across Sacramento. Serving athletes from Under 8 through Under 23, the club provides a safe, structured environment where youth and young adults learn teamwork, resilience, and accountability while staying active and connected to their community.

To continue fulfilling this mission and expanding access to rugby for all participants, the organization requires funding in three critical areas:

Safe and Consistent Practice & Match Facilities

Reliable access to suitable fields year-round is essential to keeping athletes engaged, prepared, and safe. Funding will allow the club to secure appropriate practice and match locations during both rainy and non-rainy seasons, ensuring uninterrupted programming. Consistent facilities reduce barriers to participation, strengthen team cohesion, and allow families to rely on a stable, organized sports experience for their children.

Equipment That Protects and Empowers Athletes

Quality athletic equipment directly impacts athlete safety, performance, and confidence. Continued investment in modern, regulation-appropriate equipment helps minimize injury risk while allowing players to train and compete at their best. Proper equipment also ensures standardized gameplay, creating a fair competitive environment that prepares athletes for higher levels of play and long-term success.

Uniforms That Build Pride, Equity, and Belonging

Providing uniforms for all age groups — from Under 8 to Under 23 — promotes equity and inclusion by ensuring every athlete can participate fully, regardless of financial circumstances. Uniforms foster pride, professionalism, and a strong sense of identity, helping young athletes feel seen, valued, and connected to something larger than themselves.

Support from sponsors and funders directly translates into safe spaces, confident athletes, and stronger community ties. Every contribution helps remove financial barriers, keeps youth active and engaged, and builds a sustainable rugby program that positively impacts families throughout the Sacramento region.

Equity Statement

At Sacramento Amazons Islanders Rugby Inc, diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of uplifting and empowering youth from underserved communities through rugby. We believe every young person deserves a safe, supportive environment where they can grow as athletes, students, and individuals.

Our Commitment

We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and belonging. We value the diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences of our athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and community partners. Discrimination, harassment, and exclusion have no place in our organization.

Equity in Action

Equity means meeting youth where they are and providing the support they need to succeed. We strive to remove barriers to participation and ensure fair access to opportunities, resources, and mentorship—both on the field and in the classroom.

Safe and Supportive Environment

Safety is a core value of Sacramento Amazons Islanders Rugby Inc. We are dedicated to protecting the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of all participants and maintaining clear expectations for respectful behavior.

Education and Opportunity

We believe athletic success and academic excellence go hand in hand. Through rugby, we teach teamwork, leadership, discipline, and resilience—skills that help prepare youth for a brighter future.

Accountability and Growth

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is ongoing. We continuously evaluate our practices, listen to our community, and hold ourselves accountable to creating meaningful, positive impact.

By centering equity and inclusion in all we do, Sacramento Amazons Islanders Rugby Inc works to inspire confidence, opportunity, and hope—on the field and beyond.
