Sacramento Performing Arts Conservatory

Since 2005, Sacramento Performing Arts Conservatory has brought performing arts classes to the SCUSD, EUSD, FCUSD, SJUSD, Roseville USD, TRUSD, and last but not least the EGUSD. Drawing on the community's diverse resources; our professional arts faculty and experienced educational staff and partnerships with other arts and social organizations; we have served hundreds of students throughout Sacramento.

SPAC cultivates new generations of artists and audiences by creating memorable arts productions and by providing young people the highest quality arts training. SPAC provides a challenging outlet for students to develop the skills necessary to be successful performers -- including self-discipline, teamwork, problem solving, and self-confidence.

Mission

Give interested students access to training in performing art forms which reflect the ethnic makeup of their community.

Provide opportunities for students to share their work with their community & peers thru performances & showings.

Develop an appreciation for the arts in the schools & the community.

Encourage & improve communication & involvement between parents & school activities.

Provide a positive environment thru the arts which encourage cross cultural understanding.

Needs

SPAC is in need of program funding to continue to provide free services to interested students. 95% of SPAC's students are enrolled at the Title I public schools. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is SPAC's highest priority thus, we need program funding in order to be able to continue to provide these services to our community.

We also need funding to: grow our faculty, teacher training, teacher certification, and last but not least visiting artists and scholars.

SPAC needs music software, classroom furniture, recording equipment, PPE for classrooms, office equipment in order to be able to best serve our student families. We also need a stable location in Rancho Cordova and South Sacramento to house our growing student body.

Each class session has been fully packed to its maximum capacity and this has posed much potential problems in the past but now, with COVID situation it's also a public health risk that students and their families are facing.

SPAC also needs technical support with our website design, update information, YouTube concert uploads, music recording, piano tuning.

SPAC also needs funding for instrumental repair. Many of our instruments have been returned at the end of the school year damaged with either broken strings, bridges, bow hair lost, missing mouth pieces, cracked drums.

We have not been able to repair nor replace the majority of them and as a result, over the years, our instrument inventory has shrunk significantly and this has negatively affected our ability to effectively serve our students.
