$5,000 Goal

The Rocklin Historical Society was established as an unincorporated non-profit association on August 15, 1989 to memorialize Rocklin's unique history and to preserve and advocate for the preservation of Rocklin's historical artifacts. In April 1999, the society was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) to establish its non-profit status. The society converted a derelict home into the Rocklin History Museum in 2002. It restored a soon to be demolished church turning it in to Old Saint Mary's Chapel in 2007. About 700 third graders visit the museum and chapel each year as part of their history curriculum. The chapel hosts over 70 weddings each year as well as memorials and funerals. The society's main near-term objectives relate to completion of Rocklin's Heritage Park.

Equity Statement

Equity Statement

The Rocklin Museum and Rocklin Historical Society are committed to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) in all aspects of our work. We are committed to creating welcoming spaces that foster safety and belonging within our museum and gathering spaces.

Inclusion: All feel welcomed and valued

Inclusion is the act of creating environments in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, represented, supported, and valued to fully participate.

Diversity: All the ways we differ

Diversity includes all of the ways in which people differ, encompassing the different characteristics that make one individual or group different from another. While diversity is often used in reference to race, ethnicity, and gender, we embrace a broader definition that also includes age, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, physical appearance, geography, and any other identifiers that make one individual or group different from another.

Equity: All having the opportunity to fully participate

Equity encompasses the policies and practices used to ensure the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time trying to identify and eliminate barriers that have historically prevented the full participation of some individuals or groups.

Access: Of any and all abilities

Access refers to the commitment for everyone to be included in all programs and activities.
