Our Beginning: ReIMAGINE Mack Road Foundation (ReIMAGINE) was formed by the Mack Road Partnership (MRP), a South-Sacramento Property and Business Improvement District, in November of 2013. ReIMAGINE was implemented as an intervention strategy, serving as the social-service arm of the Mack Road Partnership, to address long-standing socio-economic challenges in a community that historically has some of the highest crime & poverty rates in the City and County of Sacramento.
Our Strategy & Approach: ReIMAGINE provides year-round expanded learning programs after school and other non-school hours to at-risk, underserved, socio-economically disadvantaged, school-age youth living in South Sacramento neighborhoods of Valley-Hi, Mack Road, Center Parkway, and Meadowview. Our programs use a positive youth development framework and prevention-based strategies and approaches (access to safe adults, protected community environments, intervention to decrease future harm) to reduce risk factors, increase academic success, improve socio-emotional wellbeing, and create access to high-quality, culturally relevant, youth-focused supports and opportunities through academic support, expanded learning/enrichment activities, supported youth-workforce development opportunities (summer program), and supportive services (mentorship, access to healthy meals and snacks, etc.).
Our Program Offerings: ReIMAGINE programs, services, activities, youth groups, and community events are offered in rotation year-round (excluding federal holidays) at our program hub, the Mack Road Valley Hi Community Center. The Center is located at 7833 Center Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95823.
