Through our programs, we are working to restore and revitalize our community. Our mission is to improve the general interests of The River District and to promote, develop, encourage and maintain education, employment, commerce and economic development including relating services and improvement projects that will make The River District a livable and sustainable community.
The River District Community Foundation hosts events to provide opportunities for residents, businesses, and visitors to connect with each other at low or no cost to them. This is incredible important in a historically disinvested and isolated community. Our events strengthen our community ties, help create a sense of place, and instill pride in our region.
Through everything we do, we aim to make the River District a more vibrant and welcoming community.
Our mission is to improve the general interests of the River District and to promote, develop, encourage and maintain education, employment, commerce and economic development including related services, and improvement projects that will make the River District a livable and sustainable community.
The River District includes three miles of riverfront. We are working to restore our riverfront and activate it with new programs and events that highlight its natural and cultural significance in the region. We host monthly river clean-ups and will be removing invasive species along the Sacramento and American River.
The River District is committed to building a community that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. We recognize that we have a responsibility to establish a culture that celebrates and promotes equitable opportunities for everyone. Through collaboration, advocacy, and strategic investments, we strive to foster a welcoming and inclusive neighborhood that supports local commerce, cultural diversity and sustainable growth.
